Chain jacks & winches

IHC Merwede’s chain pull-in systems are designed to safely hook-up and (pre-)tension mooring lines for spread-moored FPSOs, floating production units (FPUs), and semi-submersible rigs, as well as for tether-moored subsea buoyancy support frames. Depending on the project mooring configuration, IHC Merwede delivers surface chain jacks, removable sub-sea chain jacks, chain winches (windlasses), traction winch systems or combination winches as standalone items, or in combination with other mooring equipment for both shallow and deep-water field applications.

IHC Merwede's chain jacks typically feature:

  • Pulling at safe working loads till 700mT and up;
  • Average pull-in speed of 2m/min and up;
  • Equal stroking by master-slave electrical system;
  • Fail-safe hydraulic control system;
  • Special material and cladding of jacking cylinder rods;
  • Jacking beams with integrated dual pawl stoppers;
  • Minimum number of moving parts;
  • Foundations for easy relocation of jacking assembly;
  • Dedicated corrosion protection system;
  • Local and remote control panels;
  • Testing according any customer requirement.
